I was working a regular job, had my daily routines which I followed almost every week. Sound familiar? Well, I’ve done this over 16 years now, and despite changing the company I worked for or the place I lived I also changed the country once. But one routine gets replaced through another. And then I looked up and realized that time is flying by and I’m just working the next job. Something has to change.
I quit my job and packed my bags to get home to Austria where I can start the project of converting a transporter towards a stealthy RV. The general plan is to travel to Greece, Thessaloniki in particular to visit a friend of mine which I met while working in Ireland. The most convenient and fast way would be to get a ferry and be there within 5 days, but that is kinda lame. So I’ll drive south from Austria along the Adriatic and Ionian sea.
This is not a fixed route but the general idea. I will meet some friends along the way and hopefully see more than just the road. If you have any “must see” recommendations that are not too far off the route please consider recommending them to me. After Greece, there will be countries to follow but I think planning too much into the future will drain the juice out of enjoying the here and now.
There is always a time when someone should do that. I am currently happy at my job as it allows me to travel once in a while for a few days, yet, it is still nothing compared to what I’d like to do, of adventuring myself for let’s say some months or some years. As for the route you had planned I had plenty of recommendations as I’ve been to some of the places in your itinerary, but apparently you’ve reached Greece according to uour newest posts.
If by any chance you’re planning on visiting Sofia, BG, let me know, I’d like to show you around and I know the perfect place where you can park your car in the city center (safe and free of charge).
Kind regards,
Basch
